Pelotonia
I'm going to call Pelotonia my new project and new obsession. Below is some information:
What is Pelotonia?
Pelotonia is a cycling tour that will travel from Columbus to Athens, OH in August of 2009. Riders can choose their route, ranging from a newly added 25-mile ride to a two-day 180-mile tour, and each route has a specific fundraisinsg requirement. Because of a transformational gift from NetJets 100% of the funds raised will go towards the James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University.
You can read more about Pelotonia on their website and on the Livestrong Blog.
Why are you participating?
I am participating in Pelotonia not only because it is a great cause and a great way to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, but because my life has been touched in so many ways by this disease. I am a childhood cancer survivor, my Dad is a cancer survivor, and I've had many other friends and family members affected by cancer. I want to not only raise money for research, but also show victims, especially children and young adults, that the disease can be overcome and amazing things can come from what might seem like the darkest times.
You can view my story on my rider profile page at Pelotonia.org.

What is your fundraising goal?
I made the choice to participate in the 180-mile two-day ride (Aug. 29-30), so I am required to raise $2,000 for cancer research. Because of my history, however, and because I really believe in this cause I am making it my personal goal to raiase $5,000 by October 2009.
Please donate and check back here often for training and fundraising updates.
